our history

The Workshop 1924 has played a key role in supporting infrastructure and transport in the Franklin region for over 100 years. Based in Pukekohe, Auckland, The Workshop 1924 was originally established as the Franklin Electric Power Board workshop, and later, Counties Power's workshop.

In 2017, The Workshop 1924 became an independent business, evolving into the locally owned one-stop shop for heavy diesel and engineering services it is today.

At The Workshop 1924, our strength comes from our people. Based in Pukekohe, our team is made up of experienced, reliable professionals who keep our workshop running efficiently and our customers moving.

We have 11 fully qualified diesel mechanics and engineers, each highly skilled in their field and experienced across a wide range of heavy diesel, transport, and industrial equipment.

meet the manager

With 13 years of experience in the heavy diesel transport industry, Callum Deadman is a Pukekohe local who began his diesel mechanic apprenticeship at The Workshop 1924 in 2013.

After a year working in the Western Australian mining industry, Callum returned to Pukekohe in 2018 and has managed the workshop since 2023.

Callum's years of hands-on experience in the field, combined with a passion for quality, drives the company's mission to support every individual, fleet or business with heavy diesel and engineering services they can trust, no matter the job.
